Promotion
How do I promote my web site myself?
One way to promote your web site is through search engine listings and optimisation.
Ideally it is a good idea to submit your web site to the major search engines. Alternatively, if you can arrange with a web site owner who has a high Google PageRank to link from that page to your website, you may find it cuts down the time it takes to have youe website start showing up in Google search results.
Some of the good search engine URLs are as follows:
www.google.com/addurl.html
www.dmoz.org/add.html (A directory but worth the effort!)
www.alltheweb.com/add_url.php
search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
Visit the above URLs and submit the requested details into their online form
Many other search engines also exist. As you come across them you can submit your site details if you feel it may be worthwhile. The above links are some of the most common search engines. There are also numerous PAY search engines around. We suggest not to be concerned with those without first submitting to the FREE search engines.
Some search engines or directories can take up to 6 months to be listed, so you do need to be patient.
If you come across a search engine that you'd like to submit your site to, simply look for
a link to something like "Add your Site" or "Submit URL" from their main page.
