Active Server Pages (ASP) Web Hosting
What is ASP?
ASP is an abbreviation for Active Server Pages. It is popular (and common) with websites operating on a Windows web server and using an MSSQL database. It's a specification for a dynamically created web page that uses ActiveX scripting (usually Jscript or or VB Script code). The web page will have an extension of .asp (compared to an HTML page that might have a .htm extension, for example). When a web browser requests an ASP, the Web server generates a page with HTML code and sends it back to the browser. Active Server Pages are similar to CGI (Common Gateway Interface) scripts, but they enable Visual Basic programmers to work with familiar coding.
